About Janette
Janette was born in Springfield and has been a life-long resident of the area. She received her law degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. While in law school, she interned as a clerk with Monsees Miller and DeFeo, a personal injury, product liability, medical malpractice law firm.
She also graduated from Southwest Baptist University and Burge School of Nursing. After graduating from Burge School of Nursing she served as a registered nurse at both Cox and St. John's Hospitals.
She is currently an assistant prosecuting attorney in Christian County representing the state in both misdemeanor and felony cases and post-conviction relief motions. She is also an assistant prosecuting attorney with the city of Springfield.
Janette has previously been an assistant prosecuting attorney in Greene County handling both felony and misdemeanor cases. She was a member of Violence Free Families, which was an organization to help combat domestic violence.
Janette has also had experience in private practice. At Smith Montgomery and Associates she represented clients in family law matters such as divorce and child custody issues, criminal defense, and representing persons in social security disability cases.
